Since it’s Valentine’s Day and all, alson being that i’m all in my feeling and such, i figured i’d touch on the subject of love and my take on it.
I feel as though love is sacraficial and has no definition. It’s like John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son.” That right there is TRUE, GINUINE, EVERLASTING LOVE, hopefully i’m not the only one who feels that way. No doubt we’re not God, but shouldn’t we strive to be more LIKE him? Think about it this way, if it call came down to it and you and the “Love of your life” were in a room, pistol on the table, and a guard outside a locked door with bullet proof glass saying No one leaves until someone dies. Would you take that bullet or let them die? All my mature peeps who’ve been in love know exactly what i’m trying to say. When you really truly love a person, you’d give them your last, you’d go to the end of the earth and back for them, WITHOUT hesitation. They’re not happy unless you’re happy. When they’re down you’re all jacked up. They like it, you love it. When you find someone who sticks with you through it all. You can hit ROCK BOTTOM and they’re right there to help you on your feet. Someone who cares more about you then they care about theirself. Someone who love’s you just as much as, if not more than you love them. Hold on to them. Do ANY and EVERYTHING to make each other happy. You’ll argue, but if they try to walk away. FIGHT! Fight with everything in you, and when all else fails…… pray.
1Corinthians 13 is my FAVORITE scripture and something i remind myself of everytime something goes wrong in my relationship.
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
I know the mean behind it, do you?
